          We Believe everyone should:

Belong.   Be Connected.   Be Loved.   Be Heard.

We are three women who are family by birth and have many beautiful people who are our family by choice.

My youngest daughter is Alexa, and my oldest daughter is Blake. Then there's me, Sam.

Let me tell you a tiny bit about each of us...

Alexa worked tirelessly in a homeless women’s shelter, witnessing firsthand the gaps in resources and the desperate need for support.

Blake, a producer with deep roots in the Hollywood entertainment industry—someone who has worked alongside the most famous names in the business, seen the power of storytelling, and understood the undeniable influence of film. She knew that stories had the power to educate, to expose, to shift perspectives, and to spark change.

Sam, a family and career life coach/counselor, found herself knee-deep in the struggles of those seeking mental health services. She became a victim’s advocate, standing beside those who had been broken by circumstances beyond their control, offering them guidance, information, and a voice.

Now, Let me tell you how MABI came to life.

Individually we were each doing our part to make a difference in the world, in our own space and way, we were giving back in the ways we could, hoping to ease even a fraction of the struggles people were facing every day.

For two years, we zoomed (yes, I'm officially using zoomed as a verb) at least once a week, discussing each of our worlds and what we were immersed in that week or that month. We shared our frustrations, our hopes, and our dreams for something bigger. Better.

Alexa spoke about the women in the shelter and their resilience, their needs, and the cracks in the system that failed them.

Blake, fueled by what she had seen in the entertainment world, knew that powerful storytelling through film could bring these issues to light in a way nothing else could.

Sam revealed the overwhelming demand for mental health support and how so many people were slipping through those same cracks.

And then, one day, we decided... "It was time!" I'm sure Blake is the one who said it, and Alexa and I agreed, as we frequently did with "all" of Blake's wonderful ideas through the years. The difference was every morning for the next week; Blake called me to talk about it. Within weeks, we combined our voices, our resources, our passions, and our dreams. After Blake and Alexa decided on our name, we created 'Moon and Back Initiative' MABI—not just as an organization, but a movement. A platform to educate and connect. A space to give people a voice, to bridge gaps between those who need help and those who can give it.  For those who need help finding a community, love, and place they could belong to and connect with. Mabi hears these voices, connects you to resources, and never lets you feel forgotten.

Through MABI, we don’t just assist individuals but we build communities. We connect organizations, businesses, and changemakers to create lasting impact. We use film to expose the truths people need to see and tell the stories that often go unheard. We advocate for the homeless, for mental health awareness, for victims who deserve justice and support.  We create platforms where all have a voice to stand proud and be heard.

This is more than a nonprofit. It is our way of standing up, of using our voices, of refusing to let people struggle in silence.

We created MABI to change lives. To change systems. To change Everything We Can.

And We invite You to join Us.

WHAT WE DO...

Everything We Can

To Make A Change In The World

This is a life long journey. There are many voices that need to be heard, many people that need help finding resources, and communities that are forgotten. And the beautiful thing is that there are resources with real people, looking to help. Let us connect you to these resources. Let us share, through film, through books, through connecting communities, and return to a forgotten human purpose...Play.

Play... something that has been pointed out by some of our most famous:

"Almost all creativity involves purposeful play."
— Abraham Maslow

"Play is the highest form of research."
— Albert Einstein

"We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing."
— George Bernard Shaw

Maybe it's time to pause and truly listen. At MABI, we believe in the power of reconnecting; reconnecting with ourselves, with others, and with joy. Let us help you rediscover the freedom of play and the happiness that comes with it.
